The custom homes we build feature beautiful, elegant design in all rooms, but generally speaking, the kitchen is one of the most important rooms for our buyers. The same may be true for you if the kitchen is the centre of your family’s day-to-day living. When it comes time to sell your home, it’s also one of the main things buyers look at when deciding whether to put in an offer.
Since the quality of our custom homes is tied to the kitchens we design, here are some design considerations to take into account as you put together plans for your new home:
- Do you love to entertain and have guests over? Make sure there’s enough room in this area for you to entertain comfortably. Even if you don’t entertain very often, you should still make sure there’s ample room in your kitchen, so you can cook and gather with your family without bumping into each other constantly.
- Consider integrating the kitchen with other areas. For example, you may want to have a breakfast nook extend off your kitchen or capitalize on the open floor plan trend to have your kitchen seamlessly blend into your living area.
- One of the perks of looking at plans for custom homes is that you can make sure your new home will have plenty of storage, especially in places where it matters, like the kitchen. As you design your new kitchen, ensure you have plenty of places to store dishes, utensils, cooking appliances, and more.
